    About Central Institute of Fisheries Technology

    Central Institute of fisheries technology, established in 1954 which is a research centre for fishing and fish processing is committed towards ensuring quality and hence has set up a lab. The lab is located in Chamoli, Kerala. The lab conducts chemical testing on ice/water and fish & fishery products which undergo tests like pH, Total Hardness, Moisture, Protein, Fat, Ash, Histamine in fish and shellfish, Viscosity and many more. The lab conducts biological testing on water and fishery products which undergo tests like Total Coliform count, Escherichia coli, Aerobic Plate Count, Salmonella and many more. The lab also conducts mechanical testing on materials like Gear material, Plastic film, Paper & Paper Board etc., which undergo tests like Tensile breaking load, Elongation, Oxygen Transmission rate and many more. The lab provides accurate and high quality testing services.
