About Regional Agmark Laboratory, Directorate of Marketing and Inspection

In order to ensure that agriculture marketing strategies and programs of embedded growth in agriculture and other related products are safeguarded in the nation, in 1935, the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI), an annexed office of the department for agricultural agriculture, cooperation and agricultural welfare under the ministry of agriculture and agriculture, was established. The Central and State governments are closely linked with each other. Headquartered at Faridabad (Haryana), Headquarter at the Nagpur (Maharashtra) Branch and 11 regional offices at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Bhopale, Kochi and Guwahati and Central Agmark Laboratory at Nagpur, the Directorate is led by Agriculture Marketing Adviser to the Government of India. The primary tasks of the DMI are: 1-Advice on regulating, developing and managing Member States ' and territories ' agrarian produced economies. 2-Promoting the standardening and grading, following Agricultural Produce Act (Grading and Marking), 1937, of agricultural and associated products. 3-Promoting the integrated agricultural marketing scheme (ISAM) and its execution. 4-Agricultural marketing research and information network (MRIN) sub-scheme development and implementation. 5-AMI sub system implementation. AMI Sub-scheme implementation. 6–Marketing reforms in agriculture. 7–Agricultural advertising training for staff. 8–Extension of marketing.
