    Environmental Laboratory functions under the aegis of Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited, abbreviated as CMPDI, is a prestigious Public sector undertaking. CMPDI is wholly owned subsidiary of Coal India and therefore has to offers services up to the standards established by its parent company. As a PSU CMPDI has responsibility to ensure environmental concerns are kept at bay and their work does not cause pollution and other ill effects on the environment. For that purpose it has established laboratory facilities, one of which is situated in Maharashtra. This laboratory offers chemical testing services for drinking water, waste water and air quality monitoring. Associated with giant PSU’s, this laboratory has an obligation to match up to good standards and it has been doing the same since its inception.
