Centre for Foundry Education & Research or CEFER, set up at Gujarat, provides top-notch testing facilities for staff, managerial training to entrepreneurs, and arranging the customer-buying meets for empowering SME foundries. They aim at helping the average foundry man in meeting the international standards, with the minimal amount of effort. Their courses offered in the technical training sessions for workers, supervisors, and practicing engineers. Apart from this, they also offer a soft skill training program too. Their testing facilities include physical testing, metallographic testing, chemical testing, and sand testing. Their physical testing laboratory consists of Brinell optical tester, Rockwell hardness tester, micro Vickers hardness tester, universal tensile machine, electronic extensometer, and impact strength testing machine. The metallographic lab consists of microscopic digital camera and image analysis software. The chemical lab performs chemical tests on various metals and alloys like CS and SG iron, low alloy steel, stainless steel, determining mechanical properties of metals, and much more.
