    Central Forensic Science Laboratory was established in 1957 as Crime Investigation Laboratory under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Govt. of India. It is located at Kolkata and provides scientific analysis support in crime & civil matters. Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Kolkata offers Forensic Testing of Biological and DNA Products such as Blood, Semen, Saliva, Hair, Vaginal Secretions, Bone, Tooth, Muscle, and others, Ballistics products such as Firearms, Pellets, Bullets, Cartridge Cases, and others, Computer Forensic Products such as Hard Disk, Mobile Phones, SIM Cards, Memory Cards, Secondary Storage Devices (CD, DVD, etc.), CCTV Analysis, Chemical Products such as Hand Wash, Pocket Wash, and others, Narcotics such as Opium, Morphine, Cannabis, Drugs of Abuse, and others, Questioned Documents such as Handwritings, Alteration in Documents, Paper, Ink, and others, Explosives such as Nitrate ion, Sulfide ion, TNT, RDX, and others.
